Sobun was a pupil of Gorei Maekawa and Gyokuhō Hasegawa and painted using the maruyama-shijō style. Eleven of Sobun’s paintings of flowers and (or) birds are shown in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Sobun taught at the Kyōto City School of Arts and Crafts.
